Two of my favorite things, Shepard Fairey posters and toasters.
I totally want this product! I want the morning news printed on my toast in the morning.
Can toast porn be far away?
Scan Toaster: the USB toaster that prints news, weather and
snapshots onto slices of toast, by Sung Bae Chang, Sejong University,
South Korea. One of the nine finalists of the Electrolux Design Lab competition 08. This global design competition challanges industrial design students to develop the appliances of the future. This year’s theme was appliances for the i-generation that is three to five years out. The Electrolux Design Lab final was held in Zurich.
Ladies and gentlemen, I bring you the International Online Toaster Museum. One of mankind’s greatest achievements. Anyone who knows me, knows that I love a toasters. I really enjoy old toasters. I was super excited to see this on Boing Boing Gadgets today. I’ve actually been seeing a bit of news lately about toasters. I have a few new posts to add to the site.
I know I’ve been a bit of a slacker lately. I’ve been focusing most of my attention on my other blog futile.com. Oh and I also blame twitter. I’ve been obsessed with Twitter for some time now and I think it’s making me blog less.
Anyway, please check out the museum. It contains a surprisingly rich amount of toaster history with many photographs of each model. It’s an excellent site for design inspiration to boot.
Okay, I’m going to go and make some toast now.
The Fagor Flat Toaster must have seemed like a good idea at the time, but really who wants an open BBQ style electric grill in their kitchen. This really seems like a device designed to burn people. What it really reminds me of are those old space heaters that used to burn down peoples houses only turned on its side.
I’m all for new and exciting ways to make toast, but I’m just not sure that I’m ready for this one.
Oh bless your heart Archie McPhee! This is one of my favorite local establishments. If you’re not familiar they carry all sorts of bizarre and wacky things.
I just spotted this fantastic new item called the Inflatable Toast Mattress
Breakfast in bed? No, breakfast IS the bed! Sleeping on this giant 6′ by 7′ Inflatable Toast Mattress is likely to make you dream that you are a pad of butter and that you are floating down a river of freshly brewed coffee. In reality, you should not use the Inflatable Toast Mattress as a flotation device nor should you expose it to excessive heat.
All this delicious toastiness can be yours for a mere $169.95! Now I can finally make that dream about being a big glob of jelly on the toast come true!

It’s not toast but it is breakfast in a can! I’m excited about this product. I wonder how long it will be before we have cookie blaster, crepe blaster, brownie blaster, and on and on.
I think the toast art trend is really taking off. I’ve yet to make my own toast art project but I have many in mind. I think my first effort will be some needle felt toast and butter. I’ve been getting a little better at needle felting and I’ve learned to stop poking my fingers and bleeding all over my projects. Anyhoo, go check out the fine toast art on Make.
